Cosmo, Daneos just updated the servers. Everything is supposed to be working now, but it isn't. Seems like he just shut the servers down again to fix the problems. This all took place within the last 10 minutes

Have you ever actually been on when an update has just launched?

The first hour or so is always iffy. considering this update is a giant big one (including fixing most of the things you've been crying about in-game and on the forums lately) I expect things to be awful for around 1 hour - 2 hours until it's stabalised.

Wow, such toxicity.

Yes I have been online during and after updates. The main problem after is the game crashes (over and over again). I never had any problem with the chat and AH being down as a result of an update. Remember, in Daneos's most recent update post he stated that he was fixing the whole chat issue.
