In the early-to-mid 2000s, it seemed as though every game coming out had aliens as a central focus. Then around the turn of the decade, zombies became the hot new craze amongst game devs. Now, it seems like we are in the era of robots.... What will come next? Your guess is as good as mine :O
Aliens, Zombies, Robots... whats next?

hahaha yeah..i hate zombies... damn..
-
Next.... Humanoids
-
Next we'll get cat girls :O
Jokes aside, imagine a game where you had to run around either killing or collecting them xD
Did I just modified Pokemon a bit ?Make it look like Horizon Zero Dawn and we've got a deal.

Make it look like Horizon Zero Dawn and we've got a deal.Make pretty much ANY game look like Horizon and you won't get many complaints from me >.> The game is fucking gorgeous.
I do wonder how much longer the robot phase will continue though...

I hope it ends soon, but what else can they make ?
It's hard to come up with something new '-' -
^ My guess would be something like pirates or maybe ghosts or something. I would be down with Ghosts personally, since many of them tend to be adorable =^-^=

Paranoid as I am, I wouldn't want to play games with ghosts xD

I would rather deal with ghosts than aliens, zombies, or animatronic monstrosities >.>;
-Aliens have potential to be extremely disturbing
-Zombies are just plain gross, and they'll rip the flesh off your bones with their teeth
-Robots... well I don't need to say anything with how prevalent FFNAF is on the internet ...Ghosts are clean, majestic, and just plain appealing :O What's the worst they are gonna do? Poltergeist? Pfft, don't make me laugh.
^I think you need to learn a thing or two from everyone's favorite ADHD-stricken pony :O (I wouldn't mind magical ponies becoming the new trend in gaming either.... just saying)

We had robots in the '80s too.
^That is indeed true!
In the 80s, and even early 90s there was HUGE focus on everything "radical". And Robots are the very embodiment of the term. Thunder Force, Vectorman, Megaman, the list goes on~
I think in the 80s/ 90s, there was a huge amalgamation of different "radical" things they could incorporate into videogames. There was a big emphasis on aliens like in Contra, R-type, Abadox, etc. And also a lot of "badass military dudes". A lot of these concepts overlapped one another too :O

we had a lot of robot humanoid battle since MEDAROT came out
