Okay so I am new to BDO Global (I am enjoying it very much so far) but every time I see someone selling or wanting to buy in trade chat they use "kk" after the amount. In all games I have ever played "k" stands for 1000, so I wanted to get clarification if "kk" stood for 1000 or if it stood for something else. I just didn't want to try and sell or buy something from trade chat and be asking/paying too much .
currency in trade chat?

Hello,
A K equals *1000
So:
1k = 1000
1kk = 1.000.000
1,5kk = 1.500.000
I hope that you have clarified the doubt
Regards

it was made by people who don't know English. The proper term is million. We go K for 1,000 and M of 1,000,000 but for some reason people who don't know English decided to make their own terms.

Thank you for explaining. I know about the designations ""K"" and ""M"" in the meaning of a thousand and a million, but not ""KK"". Having taken up online trading, I realized that my finance and economics knowledge is insufficient to conclude transactions successfully. I have to learn slang, local terms, and rules. From time to time, I read the publication https://www.youngandthrifty.ca/how-to-buy-stocks-in-canada/. It helps me to learn about the latest news from the world of finance and form my idea of what is happening in the global economy. Could you recommend some channels on YouTube on financial literacy and stock trading?

Currencies are traded in pairs, so that in every trade one currency is exchanged for another at a given rate, determined by the market. These pairs look something like EUR/USD = 1.08. This means that one Euro buys USD $1.08. The base currency appears first and the quote currency (or counter currency) second.
