Updated Private Server Help

I have been trying to figure out how to make a private server for dbog, I recently managed to make one for an old client through the help of a few youtube videos and links, but they only work on the old client, but the old client does not have quests, some npcs are missing and it's not in english (even after trying to install an english patch) so if someone is experienced with making private servers can you help me, I don't need to use hamachi as Im not going to play online with other people I just need it for myself (trying to not sound selfish) I just need it to be on a slightly newer client for the game maybe one from the last few months.

Well... Can either of you help? What I want is to make a private server for this private server if that makes sense?

As in use the client currently being used and make my own server for it
