I also have an Nvidia, I would also like to know if you can configure some help for the game, the truth is I was investigating the options on my own and some things can be deduced if they will be helpful or not
I shared my configuration in case you are interested
You can also know what each option applies and if you have a capable idea you can rule out bad options in the control panel

Thanks, could i ask how come you chose enhance instead of override for AA mode? i couldnt find an AA mode in DBO settings so i didn't think enhance would work, & how come only 2x? the rest look good though, i get good performance from this minus the typical windows 10 occasional stutter.

I thought that everything that is not supported for the game the same panel would disable the option, I plan to try it activated and deactivated
The same with the framerate, I want to test the difference between leaving it free or limited to 60 or 30

I really wanted to leave it X8, my bad
hahaha

DBO framerate cap is about 65fps so i dont think it will go further than that

For now, in the new client we may unlock it. The game needs a lot of optimization though. We're looking into that once we get all the functionality bugs fixed + the features in.

Tomorrow I'll be testing some different frame rates, to see which one feels more comfortable
Another program that you could try in RivaTunner which is a complement to MSI afterburner, you can look for a tutorial on how to synchronize the time between each Framerate to smooth out the jumps between them, something similar to the effect that a PS4 uses to try to smooth out its varied framerate
https://www.guru3d.co/files-de…tics-server-download.html

accommodates the .co in the links

Just wanted to say, do NOT cap FPS over 64, first image is my frametime with an fps cap of 144 (cant go over 64 since thats the games limit but you can see frametime spikes all over the place) then i capped it at 60 and got a smooth 60... so yeah i'd strongly recommend capping at either 60 OR 64, up to you

I think the way the client is built, the cap they implemented is fairly rudimentary, but we can't know until we get under the hood and start optimizing.
-
Thanks for the info DippySloth , very good tests too
I was going to ask you about RivaTurner, did you manage to apply it or not?

That is true, we are talking about code that began to be built in 2006 onwards
Amazing current client work and modifications

Yes I used RivaTuner to cap my FPS like below

This is the most loaded part with people and shops and people moving their pjs, just like on tatami, outside of the cities I'm around 64(cap) and 45 fps
But clearly I have a bottleneck between my CPU and GPU, Just check my hardware.
AMD A10 7850K
MSI GTX 1060 6GB
12GB RAM DDR3
SSD 240GB
I think that the abrupt change in the frametime can be stabilized a bit more, it would be nice to be able to see a more complete video with your hardware DippySloth

This video talks in quite detail about the envy control panel , you may find something interesting about it , but I think it would be good to try NIS with DBO to see what happens
-
its uploading, just a 1 min vid of flying around kokkara village, RTX 3080 + I9-9900 + 32GB RAM

The truth is it's a pleasure to see dbo running on that hardware, I'm used to using cell shading, it's strange; or for me to see models without cell shading hahaha
I think the best thing we can learn from this is about limiting the framerate, with the limited framerate a more constant and smooth frametime is maintained, I think that gives a fresh air to the game

I don't use cell shading because when it's on it makes jagged edges show more, even with FXAA on in control panel.
Yeah I agree, definitely better to cap FPS to 64 in the meantime until the new client which we can then cap at 120/144 or unlimited etc. Even with my hardware I still get stutters from things loading in and flying around due to the games engine, which is hard to ignore but bearable until 2.0
-
I'm intrigued to know how your game is doing in a universal boss event on the red map, a lot of people go to that event, it would be nice to see that hardware in that event
