2xdrop rate should be permanent rate i agree. I did 8 hours of UD1 and 3 and i got 4 U56 and lot of U42 and lower.
I hope in a near future the rates are higher than that. So the prices in the AH wouldn't be so high

Yes, it is a casual game. Yes, you do have those options. Be glad that you do, this is the only server that affords them to you. You are approaching this from the perspective of someone who wants to do nothing but farm for upgrade kits, and get them quickly. That is not how the system is designed to work. As I have said probably a dozen times in this thread, this is meant for you to be able to see your progress and work toward it over time, by playing however you want, be it pvp, questing, farming, trading on the AH, or whatever you like. If you don't have any feedback other than "it's hard and I don't want to try", then leave the thread alone for now. Like I said, you guys are way too emotional about this, and you're going to have a bad time if you keep making yourselves miserable.
Like I said dozen of times, no one gains nothing with a insane time consuming farming. And most people will give up in getting +15 if it is this hard, and will stop playing if they have done all the other stuff that they can do without an upgraded set.
PS. I haven't been complaining about the system for 6 months, I've return to the game in December, and I loved all the changes you made, those were good changes for everyone, and I'm complaining because We were told that the rates would be higher 2 weeks before the cap 55, and I was happy because of that, but 1 week after, we were told, that the rates would be lower than the rates in cap 45.

3 stones = 10 hours of farming. Let's see how that holds up.
You need 75 stones for 1 set of armor/weapons full +15. 75/3 = 25. Going to have to get 3 stones 25 times. So you'll have to do 10 hours of farming 25 times. 250 hours
But wait, you got your craft set but you still need a e def/phys def set depending on what class you are. That's another 45 stones you need. Add on 150 hours of farming.
Well now you have your foc gloves but what about the people that would use either crit rate or crit % gloves? What about atk speed? That's about 30 stones for the 2 gloves right there. +100 hours of farming.
So that's around 500 hours of farming going off your 3 stones in 10 hours. Even if you farmed 10 hours a day every single day it's going to take 50 days to get full +15. Good luck gearing an alt.
Even if you cut out all of the extra stuff (shouldn't be called fully geared if you don't have) and only go with the original set that's still 250 hours of farming. Who is going to farm 10 hours a day 25 days straight to gear up? I remember being told that this was a casual game. What's casual about that?
Ufff, I like all the facts you put right there. And it is even more time if you want to gear up other char.
They can say to you:
"You can buy them from players". They cost a lot right now the U56. And if you don't have a good way to make tons of money, well, a not good method.
"You can buy them from tokens". You need more than 12500 token points for a u56. I kill 1600 mobs in 2 hours, that means spend 8 hours to farm the points plus all the zeni in crafting, for a u56, instead of using them to get boxes or other things...
"You can buy them from Mudosa". You would need almost 19kk of mudosa points for a u56, and budo champions gain less than 400k points per victory, so...
And as you say, it is suppose to be a casual game: He has said "This is an mmo, and a very casual one at that", "This is a casual game filled with casual players doing casual stuff for rewards", "It's just meant to be a casual game to play with your friends".

3 max stones in 10 hours means in a couple of weeks you'll have full +15, and never have to farm for it again. Like I said, it's meant to be a slow progression that gives you something to build toward for a long time.
They would, because the u56's would be rare.
You know you can craft them now right? And get the small ones in token/mudosa?
I'll have some bonuses for playing in parties out soon, but we can't incentivize party play by punishing solo players.
"Never farm again"? I've already said that since you can have multiple characters you can gear up those chars and you wanna put them +15 too.
And as I said, why to put people to only do solo farming? What do you gain? If people is doing only farming by themselves instead of doing other things of the game, why that benefit the other players?
As you have said, there is people that have already have at least one char full +15, and they are still playing, maybe doing dungeons to sell gears, or to get gear for their other chars, maybe they are helping their friends instead of doing only farming.
And since it is a multiplayer game, you should get more things doing multiplayer things that solo

Getting 2-3 stones in 8-10 hours of farming is too high??? I can agree that farming stones in ud3 might've been too easy last cap, but this cap you got rid of the bonus drop rate for supers and lowered the rate of u56. People won't be able to average 5+ stones an hour or whatever they were getting from ud3 before. but 2-3 stones in 8-10 hours is too much? That's ridiculous. Even to get 1 set of armor and weapons to +10 which isn't all that good would take you an average of 180+ hours of farming. That's insane.
Farming 125 u14s to make 1 u56 vs farming for u56? I don't think there would be a single person that would try that if kits were locked to levels like stones were.

It should return to what it was before, stones with 100% of success, now we need to pay 6kk for 1 U56, not everybody has 24/7 of time to farm and buy upgrade items. For new players that's even worse, they see the auction house and just give up, a friend of mine did just that, thinking about a long term for the game, like this, is not going to work.

The problem is, most players weren't getting 2-3 u46 in 8-10 hours, and even if they were, that would still be too high. They were getting them much more often. This is meant to be a system you guys work toward for a long, long time, not something you can accomplish on every character in a couple of weeks. It's meant to be slow and incremental. I think you're frustrated because you're going into this with the intention of getting to +15 in like a week, and that's simply not what this system is designed to do.
3 stones in 10 hours is TOO high? What? In DBO TW the system was designed to be hard because that way, people will spent real money to buy stones in the cash shop. Seriously, I'd like to know why make people farming alone for weeks is something good for the game. I've already made my point in the thread, less people farming kits/stones, means more people going to dungeons, budo and doing rankeds. There is no benefit for anyone to make people farming for weeks

We did it that way because a lot of people expressed concern that there'd be too much +15 too fast.
Yeah, I'm curious to see what kind of stats are going to come out this weekend. I'll know more about where we are once I build the tools to tell me exactly how many +15s there are, and what levels they are. I didn't need the tools before, because when we were in cap 45, I could query that out of the database without too much trouble. Now that I need to exclude the items 45 and below, I need to do some modifications to the database to know for sure.
It's not that it should be hard, it's that it should take some time. Not everything should happen overnight, you guys need something to work toward. That said, I've got a few changes coming in the next couple of months that will help incentivize parties.
That's what we're looking at right now, a 5->4 recipe change, or some tweaks to crafting materials/zeni cost. As for the whole 100k vs 500k thing, that's probably not something we want to target. The market (should) regulate itself once players realize that all u28 kits are worth at least 500k, and stop selling them below that price. If they continue to do so, it just helps the economy, and helps the sharp players watching the auction house get better deals. I think that's probably fine, that's what we want.
I'm going to be working to add a unique feel to each dungeon in cap 55 and cap 60, I think.
This is why we made the weapon/armor kits so cheap in the token shop, to fill this void.
We'll be doing this soon. The wishes/nukeland stuff were a little test to see what people would like with dungeons. We'll probably be reworking dungeons one at a time slowly to add new, unique rewards to each one.

The reason we did it the way we did, where all mobs drop all kits, is so that people could farm wherever they want. The fear was that if we locked it to level, high level players would flood into the low level areas to farm the u14's with higher drop rates, and craft them up, because the 56's are so rare.¡Hola gracias! This is probably something that's off the table now. This was the #1 thing people complained about with the original system.

I am not saying that in one hour you should get 75 kits for a full set +15. But before the update with normal mobs with a 0.05% of rate, I got 2-3 u46 stones in 8-10 hours of farming. That is too low, now for the u56 is worst (0.031-0.034% of rate), because even you can craft those, you still more a lot of luck to drop 5 u42 to craft a u56.
I understand the farming in games, but farming upgrade items and know that you wouldn't get a +15 item in 25-30 hours isn't very sane. Because now, the only 2 viable ways to get a u56, are farming which the rate is too low, and AH that are too expensive. Token and Mudosa are out of question, cost too much to get 12500 tokens for a u56, and more than 5 millions mudosa points for a u56

I already expressed that dbo is a mmo game and it should be hard to upgrade but not with failure
I really like the kit system and I think it's already good enough "idk about 2x tho" but if ppl gonna complain about the ppl with +15 it's because they burned through a shit ton of zeni I know a guys who isn't still full 15 but he burned 400kk already
I think if we treat it like u get almost a +15 piece for 1 week of farm is quite okay "I know some would say it's hard or easy but ppl will always prefer the easy solution"
Why for being an MMO, should be hard to upgrade? If it is an MMO, Multiplayer Massive Online, people should be doing Multiplayer things to get better, like farming TMQ and Dungeons to get better gear, not farming solo for weeks. That is what I think

Once I pull the stats, I'll think about running the 2x upgrade kit drop event. Also, here's a snippet from a discussion JDario and I were having on discord:
The good part about this new system is that there are a lot more moving parts to it than just drop rate + stone upgrade success rate
So we can look at things like reducing the zeni cost to upgrade kits
Reducing the amount of kits needed from 5 to 4
Reducing the amount of crafting materials needed
Increasing crafting material salvage rate, making crafting materials drop from farming
These are the kinds of things we'll look at, rather than just drop rate or upgrade success rate
I think that most of the things about crafting is good, but since the drop rate of the u56 is the half of u42, why do you need 5 kits instead of 2? That seems weird to me.

This is the thing that seriously devalues all the feedback we get, and makes it super hard to actually figure out what players want. We're sneaking up on 6 months since the team and I started, and every single day people have complained about the stone system.
- When the stone system was high drop rate + lots of RNG, people complained it was too hard
- When the stone system was lower drop rate + no RNG, people complained that it was too hard
- When people found workarounds with UD3, quests, and popo boxes, people complained it was too easy
- When the UD3, quests, and popo box stones are handled, some claim it's too hard, and some claim it's too easy
You guys have cried wolf so much that I don't know if there's going to be a wolf or not, lol. Based on this thread so far, it seems most players like it. We'll do some polls and some analysis this weekend to see what people think as well. Keep the feedback coming though! This all helps inform our decisions going forward. I need to know how you guys feel so I can change the game to be the way you want!
I don't think that people that did complain about RNG were complaining about how easy was to get them.
I've seen 2 kind of players:
- Players that would like to get +15 as hard as possible, like Chuya, who expresed his opinion here
- Players that would prefer to get +15 and not to be grinding for hours and enjoy the content of the game
So whenever change you do, some people will agree and other won't
