btw can u make online games? also i think u should opt for an original story of ur own imagination rather than some known stories like dbo just a suggestion im interested
MMO requires even more work that i do not have the money, time and resources for.
Also thats the plan, i have a few ideas for a story arc but nothing set in stone. DBO isnt very story rich so it doesnt really matter if i use some of it's story elements. but yeah the majority should be Original story.
Well, old recolor was because of low ram and cartrige/rom space, but since you shouldn't be so limited you can go for way more mobs then in the "old days"..
DBO has alot of recolor mobs too, but since i don't know how long your game should be(story wise) i would say between 25 to 50 mobs should be ok. Unless you really wanna go for a big story with many hours of playtime.
you are right, the rpg makers actually give you the option to alter colors of mobs too to make the game data smaller.
Im thinking of building the map of dbo as good as i can but instaid of questing it would be an Original story. ofc there would be side quests and stuff.
I like it to be roughly 60-70 hours worth of gameplay with the ability of post story gameplay. secret bosses and stuff like that, so it will stiull have replay value.
Made two more just to show i wont do the typical color shifting old rpg's did, i will hand shade each individual mob that is similar to other mobs. But it also depends on which mobs will be used, i doubt i'll be able to include every single mob dbo has to offer.

Nice work on those sprites. I like these old "sprite-games"! Played the Father of Goku RPG too. Good luck man.
The sprites i made are based on the old Game boy color "hypersonic warriors" game. It has been a great inspiration for sprite work for me for many years.
Are you using just development programs to build the game or do they require some programming language ? Btw I would like to see how ur project is doing ,keep up the good work. And are u making just an action game or mmo rpg based?
These programs has basic coding but still requires a lot of self done coding for events. I also dont want to seem like a noob by using the basic resources so i have to create everything from scratch. And im hoping to make it a single player turn based game. MMO requires even more work that i do not have the money, time and resources for.

I've had RPG maker programs on my computers for over 10 years and currently i have 6 different versions.
Yet, i have never made a complete game.
I've Always wanted to make a game but never got past demo lengt games because i'm pretty hard on myself and ended up hating most of the results.
I already have a ton of ideas but nothing definitive, but if i start on this project i will somehow keep everyone interested up to date,
maybe trough my profile here or a discord room specifically made for it. Still remains to be seen.
Now the possitive about this is i have a shit ton of resources and a quite bit of experience with these programs.
The negative is games take a long time to develop and if there's no interest in them i wont even start on this project.
Hence the reason for this thread. I want to know if there's any interest in this kind of game, so if you do have interest,
leave a comment, the more i get the more i'll be motivated to start this project.
Just leveled my 1st turtle from 30 to 40 today and must say i'm having a blast with it. Even without major dammage skill "giant/super kamehameha", if you play your cards right and get to know the class on a technical levelit's really fun to play.

and how would you know that? did this happen to you as well? in which case the only way you know this is when you tried logging into a character that doesn't belong to you, which makes you untrustworthy, ergo i don't believe a word you say.

I'm wondering the same thing, although i do know you and you know me due to the fact we've been in contact ever sinse, i do wonder if anyone else will know me from Taiwan and Hong Kong.
I used to have A LOT of characters, but the most well known were Splatterhouse on Taiwan and Neoluce on Hong Kong.
