    Hi,

All characters were wiped. Your previous character was made in Pre Open Beta stage of development in which was said that every character would be removed. You will need to make a new character and level again.

This thread will now be closed.

    Hi,

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the website and forum had to undergo maintenance in preparation for open beta. This was a priority which the administrator (Daneos) needed to address as soon as possible.

Fortunately, the website is now back online (under the new domain: https://dboglobal.to/)

Here are some general questions that have been asked throughout the day, and some responses for those questions:

Where can I download Dragon Ball Online Global? Why are the links not working?

The links were removed and will be made available to the public again hopefully later today. There will be an announcement made of when players can download Dragon Ball Online Global.

What time is Open Beta/Server wipe expected to happen?

Due to the website technical difficulties, there was a slight/minor delay of preparing for open beta. However, Open Beta is still scheduled to occur today. Please remember that in some timezones it still is classified as the 1st of March.

When will I know when Open Beta will be made available?

At this stage the DBO G Staff cannot give an accurate estimation of when the server will be made available. Please consistently check for upcoming updates:

    -The News section

    -DBO G's Discord (in #announcements)

-DBO G's Social Media pages (such as Facebook and Twitter)

The DBO G Staff appreciate how enthusiastic, eager and excited the community has been towards open beta. We thank you for the support and generosity that is always provided, however, we must insist that you all wait patiently for the arrival of Open Beta.

Buffs that don't stack together are usually those that give identical stats, or to prevent characters from being over powered.

    Some other examples are:

    • Miraculous Fitness (Ultimate Majin) and Enchanting Breeze (Mighty Majin)
    • Defense Breath (Grand Chef) and Defense Breeze (Mighty Majin)
    • Crane Discharge (Crane Hermit) and Miraculous Cheering (Ultimate Majin)

There is more which I haven't listed but from the top of my head those are some buff combinations that don't work and you have to pick one or the other.

    Hi,

This post will hopefully clarify and explain to the members of the community why those 47 accounts all received a permanent ban (IP ban), and help define the different types of bugs.

The bug that was abused was a game breaking exploit that some players who learned of it had selfishly kept to themselves and constantly abused for months.

What exactly is a Game Breaking Bug?

A game Breaking bug can be defined as an exploit in which players can gain a severe, unfair advantage over the whole server of Dragon Ball Online Global.

A severe unfair advantage includes the following:

    • Players gaining items (that should not be easily obtained) by abusing a bug
    • Players gaining any form of currency (such as CP, Zeni, Medosa, Budokai coins etc) by abusing a bug
    • Any form of unfair advantage in which a player could have attain a self gain from. This means that if a player has a certain agenda in mind in which they can manipulate the bug in ways which they can obtain some value from abusing the bug. (For example, the old crash bug in retail Dragon Ball Online that would crash players clients would fall under this category).

The dojo war map exploit is a situational bug, as it is also a map render bug due to poor development with the retail version of Dragon Ball Online. The original developers (NTL) were constantly made aware of this exploit back in 2011 - 2013 but despite having knowledge of the bug they refused to fix. Because of this, players are first issued a temporary ban (if caught abusing this bug) and then if used again they are then Permanently Banned (however, this could change in the future).

A simple visual bug, or boss exploits (like the one you mentioned in your post) is not classified as "game breaking" and does not fit under that category. From memory the exploit you mentioned in your post existed since retail. That is a retail defect which you do not really obtain a gain from (the only exception is having an easier time defeating the boss).

This is why it is explicitly stated by the DBO G Staff/Team for members of the community to make sure to report any bug that they come across, no matter if it is visual, boss exploits, game breaking (or any type of bug for that matter). Every bug should be reported by the community and bought to the teams attention so that a fix/solution can be worked out to resolve the bug as soon as possible.

In the case of the 47 accounts, the player(s) who first discovered the bug made the mistake of abusing and spreading the bug for self gain. If the first player who discovered this said bug would have originally reported it from the start (without abusing it), this could have potentially prevented the exploit from spreading and all of the offenders from being permanently suspended.

If anyone knows of any bugs, please be sure to submit a ticket as soon as you are made aware of the bug/exploit. This can go a long way and be a big help to the whole DBO G Community. All bugs are unwanted, no matter how severe/serious they may be. So please be ensure to report all you may come across.

    Hi,

This thread and the suggestion has been put forward to the admin/developer (Daneos) and the idea of players being able to turn on/off experience could assist players who don’t wish to gain exp.

As such in a future scheduled maintenance update there will be a command implemented in which players will be able to turn on/off exp themselves.

Thank you for the feedback, the communities ideas and support is always appreciated.

    DBO G Team

There was a wiki page that was originally planned - but this so far hasn't fallen through due to the lack of support that was received. Maybe the team will look into building one again, but it will be discussed.

As for the second suggestion, if a player doesn't want to receive experience, then stop killing monsters period. It's clear that a level 29 only character would be an alternate character, and a player can easily level up an alternate character to farm. This has always been the case ever since DBO TW, KR and HK.

In any case, farming on a level 29 character is actually insufficient and would take longer than farming on a higher level character. Why would a player want to farm on a weaker character? That doesn't really make much sense, as it would be more time consuming (due to having lower LP, lower defense, not having a range of skills). It's easier to kill mobs on a higher level character.

Here are some criticisms that haven't been mentioned already:

    • The video just showcases level 1 and level 2 gameplay. How can you justify and try to give an accurate representation of Dragon Ball Online as a game when you literally showcase the start of the game? In your video you act like you are stating facts when it's clear you did not explore the game in depth and only made this review within a few hours (or even less) of playing.
    • No skills are used in your video. Not one. You don't even have a skill in your skill bar, and yet you complain about the lack of skills from the dragon ball universe, when if you would look at the skill tree, they actually are from the dragon ball universe.
    • Your video doesn't mention that classes have different roles: DPS, Tank and Support. What you demonstrated in your video was a support class (healer). You wanted to jump straight into combat while playing a support class, which is based off dende (in Dragon Ball lore). You state how you "want to mess people up, go on a rampage" and yet you picked a healer. Contradiction much?
    • There was no comparison or mention of the user interface in your review.
    • You did not conduct research at all, in regards to PVP. You didn't mention how there is open world PVP where players get to compete and fight over the 7 dragon balls (Dragon Ball Scramble), or how there is a budokai tournament where players get to face off and fight against eachother. (Then again how could you, you are only reviewing the game from a level 1 perspective), or the other PVP modes that Kirito mentioned in his post.
    • Didn't mention cosmetics at all.
    • Only showed yourself and your character walking around town for 10 whole minutes, and didn't actually showcase proper gameplay, events, PVP, PVE, master classes or the differences between races at all.
    • On your page it says the developer was "Bird Studio / Shueisha" and fails to mention NTL (who was the main developer) at all.
    • You do not mention how there are familiar iconic Dragon Ball locations such as korin tower or West City.

Overall this review was a poorly researched, ill-informed mess. Fair to say most of it is your opinion but at least provide your viewers with the actual basic facts of Dragon Ball Online before reviewing it. It's quiet evident that you've played Xenoverse before hand and that you are making constant subtle comparisons between Dragon Ball Online and Xenoverse.

Ffs... Pre-Open Beta -----------> Get features working, find and fix bugs, balance the game.

The game is 2 weeks away from Open Beta. We shouldn't be discussing critical elements of game balance now. It should already be balanced.

Your team set this deadline. And the game still isn't even balanced yet. How unprofessional is that?

The way your team conducted themselves is the reason why the game is in a messy state right now.
    Don't blame the community.

Will there still be bugs in Open Beta?

Unfortunately, there will most likely still be some bugs in Open Beta. Please be sure to send a ticket and report them if you notice any. Be sure to submit video/picture evidence if possible and describe how to replicate the bug in your ticket.

Will there be any balance changes to PVP and PVE in Open Beta?

Yes, there will be balance changes that will still be tested and adjusted by the DBO G Team.

As it's clearly been stated in the Open Beta 2018 FAQ, there still will be bugs and balance updates in Open Beta, which could also include the possibility of adjusting properties again.

The team had not once, never said that balancing and bugs will not appear in Open Beta, so I don't know where you pulled those non-existent proposals from, as the DBO G Team never stated this (as far as I'm concerned).

Over the past few updates, especially after this property update, a minority and small portion of members are making posts not trusting the teams decision and even going to the point where members are even questioning the teams experience and asking for justifications on decisions, which are usually always provided.

Right? We don't have any power. I tried to bring the community together to help out balance and they locked the thread and said they already decided that they were going to do it themselves. They tell us our ideas will get implemented if it's a good idea but that's not true at all. It's more or so if they agree with it that it will be added. And also why should we ass kiss Daneos and consider him great like you GM/Mods are doing? He's not one of us, he's from ragezone, not dbocom.

No one is saying you don't have any power. The community constantly influences decisions that are being made, and I can ensure you that behind the scenes there are always discussions that are made internally among the team. Obviously, the community doesn't see these discussions take place but there are many occasions where Moderators and GM's both do put forward the community's opinion and feedback. The only time threads such as these are closed is because they get out of hand, members start losing respect for the forum rules that are set in place and we as DBO G Staff members have no choice but to lock the thread and punish the rule breakers.

Daneos might not have originated from dbocom but why does that matter? Dbocom was only served as a medium, as a place for active members of the english community at the time to communicate about Dragon Ball Online.

In any case, if some veteran members are concerned that their opinions are not being voiced through DBO G, that is one of the reasons and purpose Daneos recruited myself (and other veterans among the staff). Any veteran active member who used dbocom all those years ago would be able to recognize my name, and vouch for my experience. If you have a problem, you can always send a ticket or Personal Message myself (or any other staff member) through the forums.

The DBO G Team is constantly listening to feedback from the community, on a variety of platforms (Forums, Discord, Social Media, and In-Game). For those that do not feel as they are being heard, you must believe that the Team is always constantly reading feedback every single day.

    Hi,

This subject has already been discussed internally and the DBO G Team has been instructed that there will strictly be no recruitment for additional bug trackers, and players to help with balance.

If the community has suggestions, feedback or issues with balance it is best to make a thread or submit a ticket for a member of the DBO G Team to review. All threads and tickets that the community creates are usually checked and reviewed by members of the DBO G Team on a daily basis.

This has been discussed on multiple occassions. It’s up to the community to run buffers in parties, as both chefs and ultimate majins can run all dungeons in the game perfectly fine. Most of the time it’s other players who decide not to take buffers into dungeons such as krakken. It’s up to the ultimate/chef mains to just find a group of loyal friends who don’t worry about speed parties being the most time efficient, and run it with players who are happy to just clear the dungeon.

Let’s use farming in papaya for example. It’s much easier and time efficient for a turtle hermit (due to their large range of AoE abilities) to farm over a swordsman (who mainly only has single target skills) however a swordsmen is still more than capable of farming. The same logic can be applied to ultimates and chefs in krakken/cell x. They are capable of running those types of dungeons just fine.

As previously mentioned in this thread wait until CC floor 150 is released, in which buffers will have a more primary role in parties.

I would also like to have an animated Saiyan Tail as accessory.

And Aru: Who cares if that's not lore friendly ?
You're playing a game where you can have an aureol as accessory when you're alive...

And where there are thousands of Dragon Balls in circulation and where Shenron is summoned dozens of times a day...
    Are these points lore-friendly ?

It's fine having it as an accessory because that doesn't effect the lore of Dragon Ball Online Global, however having a human with a tail (that isn't due to cosmetics) would effect the lore, which was the point Aru was making.

In Dragon Ball Online, the race is Human, and not Saiyan. It is possible to make a tail accessory (as due to modding) but it would probably be a backpack accessory, and cosmetic items don't effect the lore of Dragon Ball Online. Halo's are an accessory but wearing one doesn't mean your character is actually "dead" or in "other world". The same would be as wearing a Saiyan tail, it wouldn't make your character originally a Saiyan (in terms of the lore). Your character would still be classified as a Human.

Tier 1, and Tier 2 dragon balls are in a different category (as Kuromi said, this is an MMORPG where every character has individual story and quests which is what the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Dragon Balls fall under). However Tier 3 dragon balls (the Dragon Balls obtained during the scramble event) are actually the Dragon Balls in Dragon Ball Online to follow the lore:

    • 7 Dragon Balls are scattered around the world
    • There is only one wish made during the event
    • The Dragon Balls are scattered around the world and are turned back to stone

I'm going to close this thread. It's been explained countless times by the DBO G Team the problems with these bugs and why they cannot be addressed at this point in time:

    Knock Down Bug:

    • Potentially is a visual bug, which could be due to the server, and client registering two different locations.
    • The cause of this bug is currently unknown, as there are a number of different factors that can be causing this.

    Budokai Crash Bug:

    • The budokai crash bug has been reported and noted down, although at this stage it is unknown what specifically is causing players to crash. The DBO G Staff are aware of the problem however it is hard to pinpoint what specifically are causing the crashes.
    • This is more of a priority to fix as it is unfair towards players and is ruining their experience, and is more of a "Game breaking bug"

It's also been stated that bugs will most certainly appear in Open Beta. Open Beta does not mean Dragon Ball Online Global will be 100% bug free. There will be bugs, and the only thing you can do is report them (with submitting a video) and patiently wait for a solution/fix.

    Hi,

This topic has been discussed on many different occasions. The DBO G Team have no intentions to add any new classes/races.

Please read the Open Beta FAQ for more information.

    Hi,

Thank you for reporting, however next time please be sure to submit a ticket to the DBO G Support Team (along with video evidence) so then the matter will be dealt with privately (to prevent name shaming).

It is a violation towards DBO G's Game Policy for any player that is using botting/ third party software. The player has been permanently banned on all characters as in accordance to DBO G's Penalty System.
