The eccentric mad scientist Okabe, his childhood friend Mayuri, and the otaku hacker Daru have banded together to form the "Future Gadget Research Laboratory," and spend their days in a ramshackle laboratory hanging out and occasionally attempting to invent incredible futuristic gadgets. On the 2nd of November in the year 2000, a user by the name ‘TimeTravel_0′ on the ‘Time Travel Institute Forums‘ began a thread that stated he was from the year 2036 and began answering users questions.
The user later revealed his real name to be John Titor as we know him today. He talks about how an American civil war from 2005-2015 will take place and end with Russia firing nuclear weapons onto America and the rest of the world starting world war 3.
