Hello, I created a Spiritualist and I am now wondering what armor do i need? Energy Def or Physical def? If I use logic i think I need physical def since monsters deal physical damage right? But it keeps giving me energy def in quests and I am very confused right now

The npc's are trolls,just ignore them
well,by the mid game you will need 2 sets of armor,so they aren't completely useless later,for solo leveling,i suggest you to find a guild and level up together...
PvE = Physical Defense mostly, so get that for the moment... I recommend you get Crafted armor 
It gives you Eng Def because you're a spiritualist ... aka the energy based class (Energy Based classes are given Energy Based armor from quests, that doesn't change what you SHOULD get)
