I don't recommend disable the window's defender, just add the folder where you install DBO as an exception, that'll be enough.

That actually did not fix the freezes for me while disabling the real time protection did

There is chance that Windows 10 Redstone 4 update will fix freezing, because I no more have freezes just rarely small ones that are less then second long and don't interupt my gaming in Windows Insider.
