Do you have windows 10? If so, that's most likely the cause since mine does the same thing. Best bet is to go back to windows 7 if you want since there really isn't a fix for it |Credit to Daneos for saying this in another post days ago|

No problem. I also tried compatability too but none of them work. Hopefully your situation wont turn out like mine, being stuck on Windows 10 and freezing often xP

Compatibility mode makes the game not work at all. ahh crap hopefully some one will find a solution

same little random freezes

I have the same bug. The reason for me was because I upgraded to windows 10 and then switched back to windows 7.

Windows 10 is sneaky, when your not paying attention it will attack your PC, like a virus

Same thing on w10. 0.5 sec random screen freezes.

I used to have this freeze every 30 seconds or so.
I tried something, I manually put the DBOG.exe into my antivirus trusted applications section.
And would you believe it, the freezing stopped. The game is now infinitely better to play, far less frustrating than before. It was like my antivirus was constantly checking the file, perhaps because it doesn't install as normal, it just extracts and runs.
Daneos, perhaps if the game can install as normal for open beta this would resolve the issue of antiviruses not trusting the game.
I had to turn off my antivirus for the first launcher upgrade as well. -
Im having this issue as well. I do have windows 10 but my anti virus is disabled at the moment.
Any other ideas?

bumping this thread coz i have the same problem did someone already found a solution for this? im using windows 10

Okay, oddly enough, as it's been mentioned in another forum thread, this issue seems to be because of Windows Defender, and you may need to disable it. You may also need to disable your anti virus software too, but I'd try with Windows defender first.
Hope I helped.
