Did upgrade change?

  • I know we are all sick of complaints but was there a change to chance on upgrade?

    After 10 hours of farming stones in the last 2 days I have went through 20+ white stones, stacks of blue and green stones and I am left with

    +6, +6 and +5 gear. Hitting +9 is common but it always fails or breaks at +9. This is the kind of garbage that makes people stop playing a game,

    Wasting 10 hours an all my points spent on stones for nothing. What pisses me of the most is I spent 60 bucks on 2 accounts on this game over the last couple weeks and now I can't even bring myself to turn it back on.


    I have multiple friends that have played this game but Will not come back no matter how much I try to talk them into it because of upgrade system, These are the type of gamer's that spend 100 to 200 dollars a month on a game like DCUO, WOW, or Warframe.


    You need to make a progressive upgrade system, the more stones used the better chance you get for success on that item. I would farm stones for hours on end if I knew that I am making progress towards something or at least get rid of the -2 from a break with a white stone. Hit +9 a couple times an thought do I even want to try an upgrade an risk going backwards while having a stack of white stones.

  • Oh no. You didn't get closer to +15 fast? Daneos pls fix this. Gotta make sure everyone can go to +15 in about 10h.

    Back in old DBO if you hit broken without using a white stone, that item got deleted! Here that sh*t doesn't happen. You go back to +0 (without using white stone). Upgrade is already easy enough. You should put more time into this if you wanna reach something.

    Everyone having +10 or more easily will kill the game!

    Anyways, the harder it is to upgrade your gear the more rewarding it will be when you succeed in doing so, think about it.

  • Sh*t fast.... how about not at all. I was shooting for +12 on one item. At one time I had a stack of 18 white stones from drops and 15 white stones from points an never got past +9 on that item using green an white stones.

    At this rate it is impossible to get +15, maybe after a few 100 white stones on one item. There is no point in even trying at this rate.

  • It should be way harder .. Cause it's way to easy to obtain stones ... The harder it is, the long it i'll last to goal some objectivs !

    I agree but it's not like I started getting stones on update. I started saving 55 stones 3 weeks ago or so from points just for this update. I had crafted 55 gear 1 week after 45 cap and just started saving points for stones. I have been working on this for over a month now. On 55 cap I got real lucky on white stone as soon as I hit 51 on Friday while farming 51 adds.

    At this rate I will still be trying to upgrade 55 gear when 70 cap is out.

    So what do you do? get on grind exp hit cap in 3 to 4 days an wait for next cap....or waste time farming stones for gear that will be no good by the time you make any progress in upgrades.

    Already 53 almost 54 on one character an haven't played since yesterday morning

    I go with don't play an just wait for next cap.

    Well hell yeah.....more money more money, That's why they do this.


    Yes it is more rewarding but there is a point when it becomes not worth the reward, also is that reward obtainable or are you just wasting time.

    This is not my first mmorpg, been gaming for over 10 years on PC, PS4 and Xbox. DCUO is prime example of killing a game due to chance, going from 3 to 5k being logged on at one time to less then 500 now. Had over 5K real money in that game in over 6 years at re playing content over an over for a chance at the best gear on the highest dlc at the time an just as you get it they release a new dlc. This will keep players for a short time but they will eventually say it's just not worth the effort.

    You should ask some cashing ppl here who try to get +15 and how many stones they throw in. Then again, better do not ask cuz you might stop trying/playing lol.


    It is possible, if you have the luck to choose the right cards, that you get +10 or more without a single white stone. Once i managed to bring a staff from +6 to +12 in a few seconds without using white stones. Used 2x purple stone and had ultimate luck. Both gave +3. Just keep playing and trying. It'll work out sooner or later. Also upgrade gets annoying at around +9. Everyone knows that. You are not the only one who has problems to go past that xD

  • It has always been frustrating.


    The problem is that this game really should be called Casino Simulator. All the important aspects of this game come down to luck, and as you can play with real money (Anybody serious about upgrading will cash) The game promotes gambling, and I believe is one of the reasons this game is addictive.


    I have always said that DBO is a poor game, when you compare it to any other MMO in the market it falls short, however there is something so addictive about it. I loved the retail game, and I have no idea why.


    When you blow through 50kk + and have nothing to show for it, that is exactly the thing that makes you want to stop playing.


    I once bought 15 Stones from the cash shop in Taiwan and got 13 breaks and 2 fails, I broke pretty much every piece of armor I had. I can't describe the absolute disgust I felt at both myself for doing it, but also the system the game employs. (I obviously bought way more throughout my time, but this is an example of one particular afternoon I won't ever forget)


    The thing that really frustrates me is seeing the same names constantly getting +12, 13 and 14 (And Divine constantly getting +15)


    I have cashed way more than my fair share, but I cant keep up with these people.


    The system should not be easy though, I don't want everybody running round with red or purple auras.


    The problem with the system is a lack of consistency with both upgrades and also boxes. Spending 10kk can earn you the same result as spending 500kk, 5 stones can earn you the same as 500.


    Tera had a decent system, where every time you failed an upgrade, it slightly increased the odds of succeeding next time, which I believe stacked.


    It is frustrating that people can get lucky with upgrades or brown boxes, where others get nothing.

  • Strop cry i hit +11 glove with 4 purple i saw already in market a lot of items +14/15 stones dropping easy you can even drop white stones! you can get them easy for tokens! and here is no fakin broken option! and these creatures still cry!!? i already wanted make thread for decrease the drop rate of stones or give back the broken option, and this guy is still unhappy and want make it even more easy, every day humans complain about something, monsters knock down too much! I can't upgrade my gear! they dont want my fighter in party! omg come on,,, TW and HK servers were the best because foreigner creatures had no voice in the forums but they still played, now they have option so they cry about everything, they will still play this game but they ned cry for sure.

  • I do understand your frustration, but i also don't want to see a game filled with 15+ like in the POB. However i did like your suggestion on progressive upgrading. Some people might not agree with me, but I myself hate if things are too luck based as opposed to hard work.


    For example:


    New Upgrading System

    • Item get's a higher chance of upgrading after reaching a new lvl.


    Explaination:

    • Item has an exp of some sort, with a maximum lvl of 10 or something. After enough upgrades the items goes from lvl 1 to lvl 2. At lvl 2 the item has a higher chance of upgrading compared to the previous lvl.

    • Below each item that has been upgraded 2+ or higher should have an exp bar like the example above.

    Example

    • We have a piece of armor lvl 70. We upgrade that armor from 0 to 7+. Whether the upgrade was succesful, failed or broke, it gains a small amount of xp. The higher the upgrade is the more xp, for example from 5+ to 6+ gives less xp compared to 10+ to 11+.
    • When the item has gotten enough exp and it goes from lvl 1 to 2, the chances for upgrading at each stage increases. Example: at lvl 1 the chances to get from 10+ to 11+ is 5%, when the item gets lvl 2, the chance is increased to 6%. when you've reached the max lvl of 10. The chance will be 15%. Note: i don't know the offical % for upgrading, just using this as an example.
    • At the same time, the amount of upgrades (xp) needed to reach the next level for an item should be something ridiculous to still keep upgrading a challenge, but at the same time rewarding the players effort of upgrading an item several times.

    This is just my suggestion on making upgrade a bit less luck based and a little bit hard work influenced.


  • LOOKS SAFE AND EASY THATS WHY IS BAD, EVERY UPGRADE NEED HAVE RISK. AFTER FEW MONTHS EVERYONE WILL HAVE +15, THE CURRECT SYSTEM IS GOOD. LOOK AT BLACK DESERT THE UPGRADE SYSTEM IS EVEN MORE HARDCORE THAN DBO WHEN YOU UPGRADE ACCESORY YOU CAN SUCCES OR FAIL AND WHEN YOU FAIL YOU LOSE THE ACCESORY AND ACCESORY IN THIS GAME ARE MOST EXPENSIVE YOU CAN COLLECT MONEY FOR A WEEKS OR MOONTHS, SPEND MONEY ON MAKING FAKIN FAIL STACKS BUT YOU LOSING ALL IN FEW SECOUNDS, BUT IT KEEP PLAYERS BEING MOTIVATE TO GRIND, BUT I DONT SAW ANY THREADS ABOUT IT ON THE FORUM I FEEL LIKE THIS COMMUNITY BECOME RETARDED AND COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERYTHING, THREADS LIKE THIS HOULD BE INSTA LOCKED AND SEND TO GRABAGE. THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERYTHING BECAUSE DANEOS GIVE THEM FINGER AND NOW THEY WANT WHOLE HAND.

    The biggest problem I have is purples/greens giving +1. It's so hard to get a success at high upgrade levels and many times you eventually get one and it's only +1... But again I've already made like 3 threads about this and the staff doesn't seem to care.


    EliteX Oh and btw, don't feel bad about wasting 10h of farming. You have no idea how unlucky I've been. The lvl 41 stick I was using, took me over 250kk+ worth of stones. It gets really frustrating until you get to the point where you literally just wish for the brokens to not feel bad about them....

If you are upgrading say... +12 to achieve +15 (since it has the highest chances of giving u so) (4.5% success rate I think it was), imagine that if the dice rolls numbers 0-4.5, then you get success, if the dice rolls 4.5-100, you get fail or broken. That said, say you actually get a success. Well here comes the fun part with purples and greens, you have a 33% chance to only get +1..... yes after spending million and million worth of stones, you could easily get only +1. This means, your chances of getting +15 from +12 are........ 1.5%, why? 4.5%/3 since the purple could give you +1,+2. or +3 in the case of success. Based on these stats, I suggest getting about 100 purples, 100 whites, and 200 reds if u wanna have any sort of real chance at upgrading something. And then again there's the video of me upgrading on top. Keep in mind I had already spent like 250 stones of each before this! lol

    Something like this would be great, it wouldn't matter if it took 50 green stones or 100 blue to go from say +9 to +10 if we knew that it was going to happen an with the chance it might only take 1 stone to go up 3. Now go up from there to say 60 green stones or 120 blue to go from +10 to +11.

    Still have the chance system so if you do get it in one stone, you feel like you won the lotto.

    This would make it take a long time to reach +15 but you wouldn't feel as all your time was wasted.

    Thats kinda the point, I wouldn't have a problem spending even say 300 purples 300 whites if I knew I was going to achieve it. Right now you could be say +14 and after your next 3 roles be back at +8 with white stones.

    I like this idea. If a white stone removed any negative effect from fail or success that would be awesome.


    Except every casher in the game (myself included) would have full +14/15. That would be kind of stupid.


    And the game would make less money as there are people out there spending utterly stupid amounts of money to upgrade items that will soon be outdated, so this wont happen. The more broken the system is (And it is very broken) the more money they make.


    Maybe a white stone could remove any negative effect from fail or broken and in return lower the success rate?


    I like that idea because the single worst thing in this game (Other than fighter v fighter first to crit bs) is investing considerable zenie in an item and going backwards.
