Christmas event

    New Player- I can't find any Loot


    The totally non-toxic DBO Community- LOL You suck NOOB, Git GUD, you're the problem, nothing wrong with the system, LOL can't even stand these trash players whiners always complaining.


    What a shame. Also, what kinda genius planned an event with only 2 hours notice, which ends after 3 hours, and has completely random distribution, essentially relying on first come-first serve and luck to incentivize basement dwellers- er, I mean pros- to fetch everything before some of us are even aware of the event in the first place? Lol, this game's gonna stay dead

    That's why I called it Expres / Lightning event. I didn't know if I would be available to make the event yesterday, I wanted to make something special for Christmas and is the only thing that crossed my mind yesterday to make a quick event.

    I understand how you feel but the events I make are like this, I can't guarantee that everyone gets a reward. In this kind of "Community Event" no server changes are required so there is no event that I can make where guarantees that everyone gets a reward.

    Hardlock trying to do something good to at least keep some players in-game and counteract Daneos 20IQ poor game management and what he gets in return is such rant

    At least, appreciate the effort instead of criticizing any attempt to improve the situation

    heres what I can say about this event.


    It is great that the dbog team decided to host an event for the christmas holiday's even for a short period of time.


    there is some problems with this event that the dbog team should learn and retify for future events.


    1) the event should have been announced way more time in advance 1 month before the event is taking place should give players enough notice.


    2) duration, This event was relatively quick, Most items were scooped up rather quickly, I was told the event lasted like 30 minutes, try make them last longer so the community can enjoy it more and have more respect to staff.


    3) limit the prizes that can be claimed. Only 1 present per account, make all item bind (i didnt partake in the event so im not sure if this was the case or not). I heard rumors that a few players scooped up the majority of the prizes. which isnt how these event shouldnt be based on, you want community included not just a select few getting all the rewards.


    any ways thats my 2 cents thank you hardlock for your hard work I know you always give your all to this project.

    This right here. The duration was ridiculous, considering that it rewards players who were both notified coincidentally, and who just happened to be nearer to where the presents spawned. This could hardly be considered a community event. Why not just make the presents spawn from mobs or something? This way they can regen, then make it last however long you'd like. But to just spawn random things in the world- What if you're in the middle of a region where there are no presents? Now, just because you happened to be in the wrong area, you don't get to participate?


    Sure you can appreciate the effort in trying, but you can't ignore the fact that it was poorly thought out, and really just served as a disappointment to lots of players. In essence, what was the mods' gift to us?


    Answer: Disappointment, but hey what else is new?

    Yeah, but how are people supposed to locate them? Fact of the matter is that when presents are spawned, some people will be closer to presents than others, and that was the point I'm trying to make.     You mineaswell have never sent an announcement for all the difference it had in our participation. I mean even if you know about the event beforehand, that doesn't guarantee you can participate, which is exactly the problem. It's not an event, its a lottery, and not even a fair one at that.

    It is called a 'Lightning Event' for a reason... Hardlock could of just done nothing and leave the Christmas event to the one we had a few weeks ago. But instead of that he made a quick event (on Christmas day when most people would be with family etc) but no he set up the event and went ahead with it. There is no specific locations where presents dropped it was a randomized spawn all over the world nobody knew where they were going to drop not even GMs. People really want to spend hours and hours on Christmas day doing a event? All it was is a quick giveaway to the community... There is limits on what is possible and what is fairyland when it comes to events. Sure there is a lot of idea's we would like to do and the majority involves server changes and assistance from admin. Hardlock worked with what he had at his disposal.

    That's what I said. The game was a lottery, and an unfair one at that. Hardly an "event".

    half a year for a lvl 60 cap for what ? at lvl 70 we probably won't gonna have all the quests working maybe it won't bee exactly the same as the POB but it won't bee that much different waiting all this and i'am 100 % that cc150 won't come with the lvl 70 cap , drops will gonna bee buggy asf , we probably won't gonna have the BIDS as well waiting all this time to come up with a new client ( i thought it was supposed to come out for december .. ) a new client for what ? what kind of improuvment it will give us ? a new cc floor in 2022 a new bid for 2024 a new cap for 2050 -_- ... the biggest problem with this server is the communication Daneos give only like flash infos and this since the biggining of the project and of corse he still get support for that so he will obviously will gonna keep it up..

    You misunderstood what i was saying, I was saying we have had level 60 cap for half a year (started in June 2018) not that there is half a year left to wait xD. We are trying our best to make sure the New Client is stable and lives up to everything we have suggested. The new client gives us so much more in terms of possibility's and stability. For example the annoying freezes when playing will be gone, The consistent crashes/disconnections will be gone and one of the most important things with the new client is we have no limits/restrictions when it comes to the potential of what we can do. New Client was announced to be within the Winter of 2018 even when we hit January of 2019 we are still in the 'Winter of 2018' all the way up until March of 2019.
