So...how do you deal with beggers?

  • As much as I want to mess with and tell them how it is, unfortinally in reality there is pure stupidity on the planet that people will never learn. It has proven many times before that you can't just tell them to fuck off. Sure in rare cases someone might actually start to change their ways a little if you tell them how it is, but still thats only a rare case and not often see. If you tell them to fuck off and do grind, and if they keep on begging on the internet, just ignore them. It isn't worth your time and money on a kid, a complete noob to mmos, and/or someone who can't understand english well.

yep, gotta agree...its quite sad actually, thing is that the crowd that played mmos werent like this in the past.

i still remember my days of playing SWG,i built myself homes close to the spaceports and there i would keep in storage special backpacks filled with goodies that newbie players would use, like weapons, speeder mount, etc, etc.

i swear i cant even remember anyone begging,i do remember new players being very polite...they just aproached you and kindly ask for some information since they were new to the game.
i always liked helping those,i spent whatever time i would need to spend to get them up to speed and give them info on what proffesions to pick and how to make some money while they leveling, after chatting with them i would tell them to wait and i would go to my house and pick a backpack for them...it felt good you know? to help new players which in time would be a great addition to the server, also made a lot of good friends like that.

but i dont know, seems the mmo crowd has been getting worst and worst with the years, words like please and thank you seem to have been erased from the minds of the players,a lot of them are just bossy and have entitlement issues beh,i probably sound like an old man when he says coke-cola was like 5 cents in his days rofl but this is just what ive noticed over the years...

You played SWG? Thats cool! I only played the Swgemu version since 2012. I unfortinally never got to play galaxies at the golden age since it was a monthly fee game at the time. I was too young to play and my parents were aganist the monthly fee thing so I never got around to it. Yeah sucks how players baiscly treat other people nowadays.

  • I am going to say something, that probably a lot of people who saw your posts would say the same.Mister, you're a dick. I don't need to explain anything, becasue I'm pretty sure it's pointless, since everyone knows how have you been acting over the forum and I assume, that you know it as well.

wow thank you for being so kind to me,yeah its pointless to explain because you really have no reasons, just your assumptions that im a ''dick'' because you dont like me.

''since everyone knows how have you been acting over the forum and I assume, that you know it as well.''

who exactly is everyone? sorry i must have missed the poll where you ask the 25.000 members of this forum if im a dick, probably also missed the results of said post where all 25.000 agreed with you.

poor thing, you remind me of one those posters in the forums who say ''we'' instead of ''me''.

seen those post before WE need answers,WE need you buff or nerf ''insert class'',think you got it all wrong.

let me explain, ill have to do it in writing since i left my hand puppets at home...

WE is a group of people

    ME is just you

    so to rephrase your post

Yep,there it is,all fixed for you.

Kamekame must be 13 years old or something, his behavior is very childish from what i've seen so far.

    childish?

so playing a prank on a begger is childish, nah man they need to get burned a bit i aint got no tolerance for people like that,if they beg and spam the damn chat with ''MOAR GOLD PLS ME NED MOUNT'' they are a open to whatever comes their way.

best mmo ever, crafting system even by todays standards is much better than other mmos like swtor, wow or sto.
ive always been partial to sandbox games thou, the whole theme park mmo gets old and fast...level up,run dungeons to get gear for raids then run raids, thats about it.

beauty of swg is that you could level whichever way you wanted, wanted to craft? sure go ahead, pure combat? yep that too,how about just crafting stims and buffing players at the spaceports, man so many choices and so much freedom to do what you wanted, that is what made the game great.

  • You have issues if you like to wait 4 hours just to "prank" a begger

reading comprehension is a good skill to have...

i accept the trade request, put in a obscene ammount of money in the window then leave,i probably go do the dishes, house cleaning, wash the car,go out shopping or for a beer and then 4 hours later come back.

either that or just turn on my second pc and run another game, who said i just stayed there watching the screen?

What server were you on in SWG? I started playing in 2004 on Starsider.

  • What server were you on in SWG? I started playing in 2004 on Starsider.

dang, been so long think it was chilastra or bloodfin,do remember my main character thou, djtorre rocking the triple threat build
(teras-kasi,pistoleer,smuggler),damn i miss that game so much and swtor got my hopes up but then it became a copy of wow with just more story, wish someone would take a risk and make a bloody good sandbox mmo.

  • i didn't say you need to give them if you don't want then don't it's that easy but i love helpin ppl so i give 5k to 20k

first things first, the more you give them the more beggers that will show up for more free money.
second,it depends how they ask for it,if a guy comes over and opens a trade window without asking first and says something like ''MOAR FREE MONIES PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ'' that is a call for help,so i play with him a little bit

now on the other hand, this happened to me the other day,was leveling a new character in swtor and i saw this player struggling,he was politely asking in chat some questions and nobody answered him,so i whispered him,we met in the cantina and i tried to answer all his questions and help him choose the class right for him.
after that without him asking for money i told him to quest for a bit that i was going to get him some goodies from the gtn(auction house in swtor),met him back in 10 minutes and gave him the goods plus some credits, now that is ok,i mean he didnt ask or beg for it,he was polite and seemed like a nice guy.

i dont mind giving money or gear to players like him even if i had to grind for 10 hours straight because i know they will make a fine addition to the server...to beggers who use caps, spam trade invites and fill your chat box with messages demanding you give them free stuff?
i wouldnt spit on them if their eyebrows were on fire, they should just uninstall the game and stop taking valuable server space...

  • Simply refer them to a video or guide on how to make money. Make them understand that begging is a nuisance and is not an appropriate way of making currency in a game. Give them some pointers or tips, and sometimes giving them a little bit of startup money is good too.

Being nice to people can go a long way. Maybe by the end of the day, you've influenced them to go make their in game money, and that itself is a great feeling!

sure man, read my post just above you,if they do it the proper way yeah sure ill help them in anyway i can but what i wont do is waste my time with someone that spams trade invites and fills my chatbox with ''MOAR MONIES PLZZZZZZ'',tried it in the past and after spending an hour with them walking them thru the game and giving them gear, mounts and gold they just walked away without even a thank you, behaviour like that i just wont tolerate...

p.s take that 'like' away rob,i was getting use to hating you hahaha

  • It's simple, if they ask for Zeni, say no.
You could politely tell them why and if they don't understand, move on.

Some players have what they want already and don't see an issue with giving out a little of their share.

    Comes down to preference.

  • i feel sorry for them, in my guild everyone is new i have to teach them ways for earning zenis, they always get upset because everything is so expensive for them in AH.

This is my advice for earning zeni
1.farm near a merchant and sell items.
2.farm till u find upgrade stones and sell it.
3.Buy things in Ah for cheap price and sell it for a profit.
    4. When the treasure box is added to the game, Sell it for 500k in AH or open it and you can have a chance of opening a lot of zeni.
